Professional Statement
My name is James. I am a Senior in college majoring in
BFA Musical Theater. I grew up in south Florida,
where I attended the Dreyfoos School of Arts in the musical theatre program for 6 years. There I worked on over 20 productions.
In addition I worked on staff as an accompanist at the Lake Worth Playhouse. I then went to University of Central Florida
in the BFA musical theatre program. There I worked on 9 main stage productions. While there I also worked as a musical arranger
and accompanist on several projects. I have also worked professionally for several Orlando based theatre companies. I have been trained in the areas of Acting, Voice, Piano, and Dance.
Personal Statement
Above you see the professional side of me
here is the personal stuff: For starters I am 21 years old and I live in Orlando. I have lived in Florida all of
my life. I was born and grew up in Palm Beach Gardens Florida. I went to the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm for
musical theater. I consider my time at DSOA to be when I began to experience life. It was the first time that I truly had
friends and could be who I really was, without a second thought. Some of my friends have stayed in touch with me since I made
the move to college and remained an active part of my life. My three best friends from high school (in no order) are Katie,
Tina, and Jeanine W. Katie lives with her boyfriend John (who I refer to as husband) in North Carolina and who is trying
to make it as a professional dancer. Tina still lives back in the West Palm area and just completed community college, next
year she is moving to Orlando and going to UCF, I can’t wait. Jeanine goes to F.S.U. and is majoring in B.F.A. performance
(that's acting for anyone who doesn't know). They have all been through a lot with me and I love them all a great deal. As
for college friends I have become close with quite a few people, especially those in my BFA class. Annie, Jen H., Tot, and
Sayra at the forefront. Out side of my class Jen Jam, and Kyle are also a big part my life. Ok back to me. So I consider my
performance life to be pretty stable, I mean I still have to work to get better but, it isn't falling to bits, like other
parts of my life. For example I have never had a true boyfriend. I have had people that I have sort of messed around with
and even had sex with but that bond was missing. I am constantly on the look out for a lover, and no one ever seems to be
there. Because of this I am very insecure about the way I look. There have been lots of girls who have "fallen" for me. But
I think this has more to do with my artistic nature than my psychical appeal. Well who knows? So other things you should know;
I live alone, I play the piano all the time (it is my answer to boredom), my favorite restaurant is Toojays, I am romantic,
but I also enjoy the occasional porn, I think I could live in a long term relationship, I enjoy baking, I love Martha Stewart
(free Martha!!!), and I love musical theater. If there is something I didn't cover then email me and I will update this page.
